Charting Our Future convenes educators and policy makers to improve outcomes for young people across Washington State.
The Foundation for Tacoma Students is the backbone organization behind the Graduate Tacoma movement. What began as a collaborative effort to address poor outcomes for young people in Tacoma has grown into a statewide effort, uniting parents, educators, nonprofits, and policymakers around a shared goal: raising high school graduation rates, college entry rates, and ultimately, lifetime earnings for Washington students.
THE CHALLENGE:
Charting Our Future began as an online conference in 2021 and moved in-person starting in 2022. Each year since, the conference has grown — more advocates from across Washington joining to bring their thinking together and push the education system forward. But that growth outpaced the brand: what worked for a single online event didn’t scale cleanly across a multi-day, multi-touchpoint, in-person convening, and FFTS needed a visual system built to hold up across every format the conference now demanded.
OUR APPROACH:
FFTS partnered with Ayouni to expand the Charting Our Future brand into a comprehensive visual identity and system of assets built to support the conference across every touchpoint. Our work touched every detail — lanyards and nametags, flyers and programs, signage and decals, stage backdrops, social media content, an event website, an explainer video, an on-site activation for attendees, and more — all working as one cohesive system rather than a collection of one-off pieces.
